We are pleased to welcome new doctor Zahra Rashidian MD to our team. Dr Zahra is an experienced and highly regarded GP with a special interest in women's and children's health and treatment of chronic disease. She is seeing patients at our Bridge St clinic.

Drug prescribing policy. Strictly no drugs of addiction (including opiates and benzodiazepines) will be prescribed at any first visit by a new patient.

If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, like cough, sneeze, runny eyes or nose, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, please book a phone consultation or speak to reception BEFORE attending the practice.

Due to steeply rising costs of running the Practice, unfortunately we are unable to continue to routinely bulk bill concession card holders and children. There is a discounted rate available. Thank you for your understanding.

The doctors do not do Work Cover consultations. They still do pre-employment medicals, drug and alcohol screening and commercial drivers licenses.

The Practice

Doctors at Tamworth General Practice are independent practitioners. They place a strong focus on the doctor-patient relationship and long-term patient care.
The GPs and nurses are experienced and caring professionals, with extensive experience across the full range of medicine. They are also committed to ongoing professional development.
In addition to general practice, the doctors have their own fields of interest. These include child health, women's health, skin cancer medicine, travel medicine, industrial health, minor surgery, asthma and diabetes.

Consultation Fees
Standard Consultation (up to 15 minutes) - $100 ($110 on weekends and after hours)
Non-attendance or cancellation within 4 hours of an appointment $35
Discounted rate is available for pensioners and children, but due to steeply rising costs of running the Practice, we are unable to offer routine bulk billing
Telephone consultations must be pre-paid at the time of booking
If you have a chronic condition requiring frequent visits please discuss fees with your doctor
Please enquire with reception, if your visit will involve extra time (for example complex or multiple issues, counselling) or extra services (for example skin excision, PAP smear)
Please discuss the Skin Cancer doctor's fees with reception
Transfer of medical records to another practice: $100+GST per patient ($50+GST for pensioners)
